One Step at a Time

So why did I start this blog?  Well, I tried to blog once before on a different site, but found that “I never finish anyth…”  Never finishing anyth, makes it hard to have a blog.

But I’m attempting again. 

If you know nothing about me….let me sum it up:

I am a girl.  I am from Texas.  I live in Topanga with my husband and my chihuahua, Cowboy.  I have hummingbirds that fight over the food I put out.  I have lizzards in my gardens, whom I love.  And I am traveling the world this year and the next, making a documentary film about my parents.

My Dad has an orphanage in Nicaragua that he’s had for 10 years.  My mom restored 2 villages in Sri Lanka after the 2005 Tsunami.  In July of this year I went with her, for the first time to see the work she had donw.  I took a small crew with me and we shot the journey from the point of view of a daughter.  I’ve been watching the footage and it makes me weep!  I can’t wait to show it to the world. 

So…I’m now think’n of moving to Nicaragua to see the work my father’s done.  The title of the film is called “When No One’s Watching.”  Which got me thinking.  If no one’s watching….I shouldn’t have a camera crew.  So,  the next step is to turn the cameras off.  After the new year, I plan to live in Nicaragua at the orphanage with the children for a few months, then document the journey on my own…with my own cameras.

So, a blog might be a good idea.  And this time….I promise to stick with it!
